Chocolate walnut pie
Ingredients for the pastry :
-160g flour
-5g sugar
-1g salt
-115g chilled butter
-1 egg yolk
-30ml ice water
Preparation :
In a bowl whisk flour with sugar and salt. Add butter and with the help if a fork mix until crumbs are formed. Add egg yolk and water and stir until incorporated.
Refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.
grease a 20-23 cm pie pan.
After 1 hour roll the dough
Line the pan with the rolled dough and press the edges, refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 180C.
Prick the crust with a fork.
Line the crust with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or beans.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove the parchment paper and weights and bake for 10 minutes more.
Let it cool slightly
Ingredients for Filling
-2 eggs
-100g brown sugar
-50g white sugar
-110 g melted butter,
-15ml milk
-5g vanilla
-10 gr flour
-200g waltnuts
-120 g semisweet chocolate
Preparation :
In a bowl, mix eggs with both sugars and salt until is well combined. Add melted butter, milk and vanilla. In the end incorporate flour. Fold in 100g waltnuts and chocolate.
Pour the filling into the prepared crust. Decorate the top with the remaining cup of waltnuts halves.
Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake the pie for 45 minutes.
Remove the aluminum foil and continue baking for 10-15 minutes
Cool completely before serving.
